One of the things I dislike the most about apartment living is our pet policy: no pets, period.
Well shoot. Besides my time at PLU, I have always had pets around. Don't get me wrong, there are benefits to not having pets like the lack of hair everywhere and the associated costs... but I miss the companionship. After 7 months in Moscow, it's still strange to walk in the door and not be greeted by a furry face.
Thankfully, over President's weekend, while Matt was off skiing with the guys, I had the opportunity to cat sit for my friend Linsey. (YAY!!) Linsey's family adopted Lolly a couple months ago and she is one crazy adorable cat! When I stopped by after work the day after Lolly's family left, I found this:
Lolly, not being satisfied with her breakfast, chewed through her bag of cat food which then proceeded to fall into her water bowl. Homemade wet cat food anybody? Gross.
I also ended up having a sleepover with Lolly one night, and lucky me, she did cuddle :)
But silly me forgot that most young cats don't sleep much during the night... so the cuddling lasted for about 5 minutes until she fell off the futon. At which point she decided to play the "pounce on Sam whenever she moves" game. Despite my lack of sleep, it was enjoyable to have a furry face at your feet (and sometimes on your face) who was interested in everything you were doing.
Thanks for letting me watch your cat Linsey!
